Description Neil Bright 2006-01-11 13:59:31 UTC
I have new hardware I'm putting in place to provide a higher capacity mirror service. I'd appreciate if you could implement a few changes...

Include zaphod.gtlib.gatech.edu (128.61.127.12) in the rsyncd ACL's on rsync1.us.gentoo.org.

Change URL references to the gatech.edu mirror to the following:

http://www.gtlib.gatech.edu/pub/gentoo
ftp://ftp.gtlib.gatech.edu/pub/gentoo
rsync://rsync.gtlib.gatech.edu/gentoo

I'm also rsync3.us.gentoo.org and a part of rsync.us.gentoo.org. When I have the new zaphod syncing to rsync1, those DNS names will need to be changed from 130.207.108.135 to 128.61.127.9. Please wait to implement this last bit! ;)

Added 128.61.127.12 to the ACL.
Comment 2 Neil Bright 2006-01-12 07:47:22 UTC
Does it take a bit for the change to propigate out? I'm still getting 'access denied' when trying to sync rsync1.us.gentoo.org::gentoo-portage. Syncs from rsync://<username>@masterdistfiles.gentoo.org/gentoo work fine.

(In reply to comment #3)

Seems to be working now. I'll followup in a few days to flip the switch on the DNS names.

Thanks!

All set to update DNS with my new IP addresses:

rsync3.us.gentoo.org -> 128.61.127.9

remove from rsync.us.gentoo.org: 130.207.108.135
add to rsync.us.gentoo.org: 128.61.127.9

Thanks!

Neil,

Updated. Give $appropriate_time for dns and acl to propagate.

Can you please change the URL references to the gatech.edu mirror on the mirrors page to the following:

http://www.gtlib.gatech.edu/pub/gentoo
ftp://ftp.gtlib.gatech.edu/pub/gentoo
rsync://rsync.gtlib.gatech.edu/gentoo

Comment 8 Neil Bright 2006-01-19 15:13:33 UTC
It looks like the rsync.us.gentoo.org A record has been updated, but I seem to have fallen out of the ACL on rsync1.us.gentoo.org.

The machine I'm connecting to rsync1.us.gentoo.org is 128.61.127.12, but the machine that should be included in rsync.us.gentoo.org is 128.61.127.9.

Neil,

I updated the ACL, but will have to fix the mirror url when I return into town tomorrow (Saturday) night.
