Description Chih-Chia Chen 2002-12-09 09:55:15 UTC
hi, all:

When i installed gentoo, i selected gentoo-sources-2.4.19-r10 as my main
kernel, and i intended to use XFS as my root partition. Of cource, i used emerge
with USE='xfs', and make sure xfs was patched. i didn't select jfs according to
Changelog of gentoo-sources-2.4.19.

But after installation, new kerenl does seems halting instead of calling xfs.
i tried many times, even if compiled xfs as kernel modules, the situation does
not seem optimistic.

It's special case for me or global bug?

Ok, you read the ChangeLog, did you read the whole thing... I think Is aid
somewhere in there that USE="xfs" is a HIGHLY experimental option and that I
make NO guarantees about it. Please use xfs-sources or aa-sources for more
reliable xfs support. I hope to have XFS also fully supported in the NEXT
gentoo-sources.
