Hi, I'm filing this in the hope that ~jbigkit-1.6 could be stabilised at some point in the near future. The reason that I have an interest in this is because I recently discovered TEXTREL issues in libfaxserver.so provided by the hylafax-4.2.3-r1 and hylafax-4.2.4 packages (the former has recently been marked stable and older versions expired). Upon closer investigation, it turned out that upgrading from jbigkit-1.4 to jbigkit-1.6-r1 then rebuilding jbigkit, netpbm and hylafax in this exact order fixed the issue entirely. For the record, I'll attach the scanelf output for the file that was originally affected and my emerge --info. I'm using a fully hardened system (i.e. PIE/SSP userland with a tight PaX/grsec policy) with stable packages except for gcc-3.4.5. By the way, I've chose the assignee on the basis that he is the last committer and that the package appears to be maintained. I trust and hope that this was the correct course of action to take.

Created attachment 76594 [details] emerge --info output
Sorry, I meant to say that the package appears to be *unmaintained* in my initial comment.
as i noted already on irc, i dont care
Spanky, perhaps push this to someone who would?
read the cc list
The value of the Assigned To field has nothing to with the CC list. Who knows, perhaps it could even be re-assigned to someone not inclined to making flippant and disparaging remarks.
stable on x86
sparc stable.
ppc stable
stable on ppc64
ppc-macos done (and following the vapier technique)
I suppose tiff could use a baby brother, so I'll adopt this orphan...
Alpha done by agriffis
Since Diego can watch his ~x86-fbsd thing, I'd say this is pretty much done.
Stable on mips.
