Udev do not set the group of ide-cdroms correctly. The /dev/* nodes working good and /dev/hd* will be created, but the group still keeps disk and not will not changed to cdrom.

Downgrading to udev-070-r1 solves this problem for me.

Are you sure you updated your config file?

On 079, what does running 'udevtest' on the hd node for the cdrom show?
