The current stable release for scipy is over a year old. These ebuilds install the development release of scipy_core and scipy from the scipy subversion repository. Feel free to change the date on the ebuilds to any arbitrary date in YYYYMMDD to fetch and build the subversion repository from that date instead. Please post if the build fails with a more recent date.
Created attachment 76114 [details] scipy-core-svn-20060102.ebuild this ebuild builds scipy-core -- be sure to put the ebuild in a directory called 'scipy-core-svn' and to 'emerge scipy-core-svn'
Created attachment 76115 [details, diff] patch for EM64T intel 64 bit extensions place in sci-libs/scipy-core-svn/files
Created attachment 76116 [details] site configuration to specify location of ATLAS place in sci-libs/scipy-core-svn/files
Created attachment 76117 [details] scipy-svn-20060102.ebuild place in directory sci-libs/scipy-svn and emerge scipy-svn
When I try and use the ebuilds they don't fetch the files from svn. Do I need to manually co the file from scipy's svn first?
I was just on Scipy.org and there's a note about a name change for scipy_core: "For a time, the new package was called SciPy Core (and so you will see refrences to SciPy Core for awhile). It was decided in January 2006 to go with the historical name of NumPy for the new package. " --http://numeric.scipy.org/
Created attachment 78167 [details] numpy-svn-20060125.ebuild scipy-core changed names to numpy. This ebuild reflects this change and also fixes the bug with the previous ebuild that it didn't actually download the sources from SVN!
Created attachment 78168 [details] scipy-svn-20060125.ebuild Fixes bugs in previous ebuild. Now downloads sources from SVN properly and considers numpy-svn as a dependency.
scipy and numpy are regurlarly updated and now news on this for over a year. Will close for now. Re-open if you think scipy-svn would really be a plus.
