Description robert jorgenson 2002-12-08 01:02:46 UTC
Just did a fresh isntall of 1.4rc1 wanted to merge mozilla. Merged mozilla 1.2.1
and galeon. Try to run galeon and i get this error.

GConf Error: Failed to contact configuration server (a likely cause of this is
that you have an existing configuration server (gconfd) running, but it isn't
reachable from here - if you're logged in from two machines at once, you may
need to enable TCP networking for ORBit)

gconf doesn't start when i try and run galeon. It didn't install the latest
version so im doing that now. Its merging stuff like gtk2 and orbit and some
libs and newest version of gconf. Will update when thats done.

Here is the output of emerge info.

Portage 2.0.45 (default-x86-1.4, gcc-3.2, glibc-2.2.5-r7)

This is one of the gconfd-1 being around or something bugs, spider you probably
have a clue here.

A suggestion, look around bugzilla some more, there are more (closed) bugs like
this.
