Dependencies should either be modified to include SDL, or alternatively you can apply a patch like the one I'm about to attach.

After applying this patch, configure complains a few times about not being able to find "sdl-config" but it continues anyway and the library installed OK.

ok.. I've added it to the cvs.. thanks for the patch
