I was having problems playing mp3s with id3_v2 tags (sounds like static at the front of the mp3). The development version fixes that. I've been using it for about a month without any problems. The filename (mpg123-pre0.59s.tar.gz) doesn't fit cleanly into the ebuild structure, however. Give it a try.

Commited, ~x86 masked. Depending on if this proves stable on other platforms we can make this stable. I'm nervous because it doesn't appear to be under active development. If there are issues it might be safer to remove this and fall back to the stable version.
