[A bug was discovered on a Debian bugs site that indicated this problem was due to an incompatibility: "gri-el: incompatible with new version of gv"] when using gri-mode in emacs to compile a gri source file, gv refuses to display the generated postscript file with the message: gri-view: /usr/bin/gv: invalid option: -- l I have studied gri-mode.el a little and tried other ps viewers. The following viewers work ok: ggv kghostview and, after I edited gri-mode.el to use evince as well: evince. However, none of these have been easy to configure to display a landscape document out of the box. I have tried a few things with gv, but none of them have worked. I can display the same ps file with gv outside of gri-mode.el, from bash.
I started an updated ebuild for gri but ran into more problems than the one you described. Let you know how that goes...
sci@gentoo.org team -- Anyone mind if I update the gri port we have in portage from 2.12.9 to 2.12.11? The update includes a fix for the emacs/gv interaction problem described in this bug. I also need to correct the gri emacs support by adding a gentoo site-lisp file containing convenient autoloads. I'd like to add emacs@gentoo.org to the metadata herds list too.
while i'm there i'd like to fix bug #133397
gri-2.12.11.ebuild resolves this bug.
