So like, I was looking over a draft for the Japanese translation of this guide, and ZOMG, what's this! ( see URL ).  NU UH! Gender specific references are baaaaaadddddd.  So like.. fox2mike said he was going to fix it next year, what a slacker!  ANYWAYS, plzfixloveyouallthx!

Generic subject...

in "Code Listing 2.10: Using aliases for users and commands" there is a line:

Cmnd_Alias  PASSWORDCOMMANDS    = /usr/bin/passwd [a-zA-Z]*, !/usr/bin/passwd root

The regular expression [a-zA-Z]* does not encompass a more suitable set of valid entries for usernames.  This is probably a better idea:

[a-zA-Z0-9_-]*

It's not the first time the he-bug is mentioned. FYI, it's not a bug.
"he" is both masculine and gender-neutral.
Some native English speakers may consider it macho, others don't.
I guess many non-native English readers would consider the plural form quite confusing.
