Description Giacomo Perale 2005-12-30 17:10:59 UTC
I know that there's a new openoffice release in portage, but I couldn't compile it due to space constraints (secondary hd failure, I had to move a lot of data into the other), so I'm stuck with openoffice-2.0.0 and I could't check 2.0.1.

In my /etc/make.conf I've set LINGUAS="it en_GB fr de", and openoffice starts in Italian with the Italian dictionary as default, so I never checked the other languages until today.

In short, in the Language Settings/Languages section of the Tools/Option menu I can choose English (UK), French (France), German (Germany) and Italian (Italy) for the User Interface, but only Italian and English (UK and US) are available as Default languages for Western, and the installed dictionaries are Italian (Italy), English (UK and USA), Swahili (Tanzania and Kenya) and Thai.
I don't know what the ebuild was supposed to do when there are multiple options in LINGUAS, but I think that it should install German and French dictionaries instead of Swahili and Thai.

The ebuild installed these files:
/usr/lib/openoffice/share/dict/ooo
/usr/lib/openoffice/share/dict/ooo/DicOOo.sxw
/usr/lib/openoffice/share/dict/ooo/README_en_GB.txt
/usr/lib/openoffice/share/dict/ooo/README_it_IT.txt
/usr/lib/openoffice/share/dict/ooo/README_sw_TZ.txt
/usr/lib/openoffice/share/dict/ooo/README_th_TH.txt
/usr/lib/openoffice/share/dict/ooo/WordNet_license.txt
/usr/lib/openoffice/share/dict/ooo/dictionary.lst
/usr/lib/openoffice/share/dict/ooo/en_GB.aff
/usr/lib/openoffice/share/dict/ooo/en_GB.dic
/usr/lib/openoffice/share/dict/ooo/en_US.aff
/usr/lib/openoffice/share/dict/ooo/en_US.dic
/usr/lib/openoffice/share/dict/ooo/hyph_da_DK.dic
/usr/lib/openoffice/share/dict/ooo/hyph_de_DE.dic
/usr/lib/openoffice/share/dict/ooo/hyph_en_GB.dic
/usr/lib/openoffice/share/dict/ooo/hyph_en_US.dic
/usr/lib/openoffice/share/dict/ooo/hyph_it_IT.dic
/usr/lib/openoffice/share/dict/ooo/hyph_ru_RU.dic
/usr/lib/openoffice/share/dict/ooo/it_IT.aff
/usr/lib/openoffice/share/dict/ooo/it_IT.dic
/usr/lib/openoffice/share/dict/ooo/sw_TZ.aff
/usr/lib/openoffice/share/dict/ooo/sw_TZ.dic
/usr/lib/openoffice/share/dict/ooo/th_TH.aff
/usr/lib/openoffice/share/dict/ooo/th_TH.dic
/usr/lib/openoffice/share/dict/ooo/th_en_US_v2.dat
/usr/lib/openoffice/share/dict/ooo/th_en_US_v2.idx

Openoffice was compiled on October 28, 2005, the ebuild in /var/db/pkg/app-office/openoffice-2.0.0/ states:

# $Header: /var/cvsroot/gentoo-x86/app-office/openoffice/openoffice-2.0.0.ebuild,v 1.12 2005/10/26 20:32:42 suka Exp $
