Please, add pmidi to portage.

From its homepage (http://www.parabola.me.uk/alsa/pmidi.html);

The pmidi program is a straightforward command line program to play midi files through the ALSA sequencer.

pmidi has been recently removed from portage, use aplaymidi from alsa-utils
