Hey rajiv In that code listing it shows to mount -o bind /dev /mnt/gentoo/dev This is _very_ bad, shoudn't be there :) a) its not needed as default nodes are provided in chroot and again from baselayout ebuild b) it means that any changes that install does affect your host system and not chroot (bad news if installing from another OS and not boot media) c) if using devfs (which all the current boot media does) it stops your installation dead with a failure in baselayout because you cannot write nodes to a devfs filesystem Could you update to remove this line this asap please? very crucial one :) Thanks Gerk
fixed gentoo-xml/htdocs/doc/en/gentoo-ppc-install.xml cvs. the x86 install does not say to mount /dev; should this be removed from the sparc install guide? fyi, this line was added due to bug 8830.
also fixed es/gentoo-ppc-install.xml in cvs, en/gentoo-sparc-install.xml, es/gentoo-sparc-install.xml.
