Please create an ebuild for VMWare Player 1.0.1 Build 19317 and add it to portage. Thank you!
The ebuild from vmware-player-1.0.0.18587 works. Setup a portage overlay at /usr/local/portage Then mkdir -p /usr/local/portage/app-emulation/vmware-player then copy the entire tree from /usr/portage/app-emulation/vmware-player/ to /usr/local/portage/app-emulation/vmware-player/ Then cd to /usr/portage/app-emulation/vmware-player/ then mv vmware-player-1.0.0.18587.ebuild vmware-player-1.0.0.19317.ebuild then cd to files and mv vmware-player-1.0.0.18587-config.patch vmware-player-1.0.0.19317-config.patch Then cd .. ebuild vmware-player-1.0.0.19317.ebuild digest You now should be able to emerge...
Sorry about that. Please ignore my last comment, the ebuild has a define which selects the previous version directly. I will check that and report back..
Well after editing the line VMware-player-1.0.0-18587 to VMware-player-1.0.1-19317 in the ebuild and renaming things so that the ebuild and patch are vmware-player-1.0.1.19317.ebuild and vmware-player-1.0.1.19317-config.patch it worked (I successfully ran several virtual machines in the expected version). I did have to do the ebuild vmware-player-1.0.1.19317.ebuild digest step again...
In your fourth overlay instruction, I think you meant to cd to /usr/local/portage/app-emulation/vmware-player, not /usr/portage/app-emulation/vmware-player. Aside from that, this worked great. Happy New Year, W
Added to CVS... thanks for the bug report...
