I've been discussing with several people on FreeNode after chatting with an AMD64 user, and we're wondering, smbfs (module) works, but no utilities seem to be present, at least I couldn't find any.  Can one mount SMB shares on/from the LiveCD?

The "InstallCD" is not designed for doing this.  Starting with 2005.1-r1 (on x86) and 2006.0 for others, it will have CIFS support.  The "LiveCD" on the other hand hass full Samba installed.  Use the LiveCD for CIFS/SMBFS.  The InstallCD is not meant to be full-featured.
