since some time I have a problem with default mouse-acceleration of X a work around is "xset m 0", but it is no real solution because of gaming (et) performing a little bit faster moving down the mousecursor is resettet to top of screen same with very fast moves to right it is resettet to left. first i thought the Xorg-X11 upgrade was it it was from 6.8.2-r2 to 6.8.2-r4 so i reverted without success, then 6.8.2-r6 become stable and I installed it again no success then I tried it with the kernel current susped2-2.6.13 i testet 2.6.14 of gentoo again nothing, although i want downgrade the kernel because of a lot of other features its an logitech pilot wheel mouse USB running with IMPS/2 I tested Explorer but no success I have the same model for my notebook so i tested both on it works fine, then tested both on desktop problem is the same i cleaned both nothing but in X without acceleration and using gpm on console the mouse works fine, I tested Knoppix4 and there the accelerated mouse works fine so far its all and I'am very frustrated because i can't play since months now. SO PLEASE HELP, any idea? ps: it has worked fine for years and nothing was changed in configuration before the problem starts.
That could be a hardware problem, especially if it cropped up without you doing anything to provoke it. I know that some mice themselves exhibit similar behaviour, but that doesn't seem to be the case here. Please attach your Xorg.0.log and xorg.conf, and post your 'emerge info' here.

Please test with at least a 2.6.16 kernel and modular X (7.0), then reopen this bug and report your results. Thanks!
