metacity-setup is yet another app which has explicit =x11-libs/gtk+-2.0* and
=dev-libs/glib-2.0* dependencies set up where we really want:

>=x11-libs/gtk+-2.0.0
>=dev-libs/glib-2.0.0

One can, of course, set them to more recent versions, but according to the
configure scripts 2.0.0 is fine.

we want ? nah, 2.0 is maybe a bit strict, but this is annother example of the
lack of raning support in portage. 2* would be good

2* ought to be fine for, in the very least, the forseeable future. Some might
even say that it's better than my suggestion. =)

Bug 11634 and bug 11633 are similar to this, in the unlikely event that you've
missed them.

fixed. metacity-setup is going to be obsoleted by the gnome theme properties
menu anyway.
