Comment 3 Erik 2006-04-02 00:46:24 UTC
This problem seems to be gone now. "emerge postgresql" succeeded today. The reason is most likely that the build system was finally able to produce a working glibc yesterday (which had previously failed every time I tried since I first installed Gentoo in 2004-10). So the problem was not in postgresql-8.0.4.ebuild or upstream but in one of the glibc files.
