Description Michal Suchanek 2005-12-20 03:47:05 UTC
The framebuffer resolution can be set conveniently only during boot before more than one virtual terminal is used.
For some reason setting the resolution early during boot sets the default virtual terminal resolution but once more than one terminal is used fbset only sets the resoultion for the particular terminal.

i'd say just use /etc/conf.d/local.start
Comment 3 Michal Suchanek 2005-12-26 05:20:19 UTC
yes, there is a local.start.
But does it execute after filesystems are mounted and before keymap/numlock?
How do I tell?
This script does contain dependencies, local.start does not.

To change the resolution of all virtual terminals at once use:

fbset -a <res>
