However on my ~amd64 I get the above error. Unmerging faad2, then upgrading faac as it says in the x86 ebuild error fixes this.

Surprisingly :-) exactly the same issue with media-libs/libmp4v2
ok both fixed in 1.4.1.. removed test and replace with appropriate deps
