Description Pieter De Wit 2005-12-18 22:26:17 UTC
Hey Guys,

This might be a kernel bug, not sure - but on the inirtd that is created using genkernel, unless you compile SATA into the kernel, it doesn't load. My understanding is that aslong as the module is in the inirtd, it will load from there ?

Thanks,

Pieter

Specifically which module is not loading? The initrd/initramfs only pulls in modules listed in MODULES_SATA, so if the module is not in there, then it needs to be added. Also, what version of genkernel are you using?

genkernel --version
3.3.6

And where is MODULES_SATA ?
Comment 3 Chris Gianelloni (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-12-19 05:08:22 UTC
Try genkernel 3.3.9 and MODULES_SATA is defined in the /usr/share/genkernel/$arch/modules_load file for each architecture.
