There is a bug in the 0.9.0_rc6 release of the ice1712 which hard
locks SMP machines when the module is loaded. See the following

Please consider either applying this patch or masking rc6.

Ryan, I just committed rc7 of the package.
I figured that the bug may be gone by now.  Could you please test?

The lockup bug seems to be gone; at least I had no problems. However, there
are some other issues which I need to post to the ALSA list when I get a 
chance: RealAudio plays too fast, and the sliders on the envy24control app
don't work.
