I recieved a mail with 2 files that are supposed to be attached to it. Thunderbird correctly shows the mail in the messages list panel with the "attachments" icon, but the message body panel itself shows no attachment. This problem seems specific to this mail, maybe a formatting issue, so it may not be a pure "bug". Here is the source of the mail (I changed some pieces of the attached data fields): From - Tue Dec 13 23:23:41 2005 X-Account-Key: account3 X-UIDL: 1134488573.31536.mrelay3-1 X-Mozilla-Status: 1001 X-Mozilla-Status2: 10000000 Return-Path: <serverkey@epicgames.com> Delivered-To: online.fr-MYMAILo@free.fr Received: (qmail 30285 invoked from network); 13 Dec 2005 15:39:45 -0000 Received: from unknown (HELO UNREALTECH.epicgames.com) (207.135.145.19) by mrelay3-1.free.fr with SMTP; 13 Dec 2005 15:39:45 -0000 Received: from UNREALTECH ([127.0.0.1]) by UNREALTECH.epicgames.com with Microsoft SMTPSVC(6.0.3790.1830); Tue, 13 Dec 2005 08:38:24 -0700 Date: Tue, 13 Dec 2005 08:38:24 -0700 Subject: Your UT2004 Server CD Key To: MYMAIL@free.fr From: servercdkeys@epicgames.com MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: multipart/mixed; boundary = bc7f81df149bbf2acde08fcfcb7e3e943 Return-Path: serverkey@epicgames.com Message-ID: <UNREALTECHhJMYTcecy00000730@UNREALTECH.epicgames.com> X-OriginalArrivalTime: 13 Dec 2005 15:38:24.0320 (UTC) FILETIME=[410D6C00:01C5FFFB] This is a MIME encoded message. --bc7f81df149bbf2acde08fcfcb7e3e943 Content-Type: text/plain Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64 VGhhbmsgeW91IGZvciByZXF1ZXN0aW5nIGEgVVQyMDA0IHNlcnZlciBDRCBrZXkuICBZb3VyIHNl cnZlciBDRCBrZXkgaXMNCg0KU1JWRVItSENXWlItTkFOMlgtTUxNSzMNCg0KRm9yIFdpbmRvd3Mg c2VydmVycywgc2F2ZSB0aGUgYXR0YWNoZWQgVVQyMDA0X1NlcnZlcl9DRF9LZXkucmVnIGFuZCB1 cGxvYWQgaXQgdG8geW91ciBkZWRpY2F0ZWQgc2VydmVyLiAgT25jZSBpdCdzIHRoZXJlLCBkb3Vi bGUtY2xpY2sgaXQgdG8gaW5zdGFsbCBpdCBpbiB0aGUgV2luZG93cyByZWdpc3RyeS4gWW91IGNh biBhbHNvIGluc3RhbGwgaXQgYnkgaGFuZCBieSBtYWtpbmcgYSBuZXcgU3RyaW5nIHJlZ2lzdHJ5 IGVudHJ5IGNhbGxlZCBDREtleSBpbg0KDQpIS0VZX0xPQ0FMX01BQ0hJTkVcU09GVFdBUkVcVW5y ZWFsIFRlY2hub2xvZ3lcSW5zdGFsbGVkIEFwcHNcVVQyMDA0DQoNCldhcm5pbmc6IGRvIG5vdCBk b3VibGUtY2xpY2sgdGhpcyAucmVnIGZpbGUgb24gYSBXaW5kb3dzIGNvbXB1dGVyIHdoaWNoIGFs cmVhZHkgaGFzIGEgcmV0YWlsIFVUMjAwNCBpbnN0YWxsYXRpb24gLSBpdCB3aWxsIG92ZXJ3cml0 ZSB5b3VyIHJldGFpbCBDRCBrZXkgd2l0aCB0aGUgc2VydmVyLW9ubHkgb25lLg0KDQpJZiB0aGlz IG9jY3VycywgeW91IHdpbGwgbmVlZCB0byByZWluc3RhbGwgeW91ciBjb3B5IG9mIFVUMjAwNCBm cm9tIHlvdXIgb3JpZ2luYWwgQ0RzLg0KDQpGb3IgTGludXggYW5kIE1hY09TIFggc2VydmVycywg c2F2ZSB0aGUgYXR0YWNoZWQgImNka2V5IiBmaWxlIGFuZCBwbGFjZSBpdCBpbiB5b3VyIFN5c3Rl bSBkaXJlY3RvcnkuICBUaGlzIGZpbGUgTVVTVCBiZSBuYW1lZCAiY2RrZXkiIC0gc29tZSBlbWFp bCBwcm9ncmFtcyBtYXkgc3VnZ2VzdCB5b3Ugc2F2ZSB0aGUgZmlsZSBhcyBjZGtleS5kYXQgb3Ig c29tZSBvdGhlciBuYW1lLg0KDQotIEVwaWMgR2FtZXM= --bc7f81df149bbf2acde08fcfcb7e3e943 Content-Type: application/octet-stream; name = "cdkey" Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64 U1JWRVItSONXZlItTkFAMlgtTUxNSzMQCg== --bc7f81df149bbf2acde08fcfcb7e3e943 Content-Type: application/octet-stream; name = "UT2004_Server_CD_Key.reg" Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64 V2luZG93vyBSZWdfc3RyeBBSZGl0b3IgVmVyc2lvbiB1LjAwDQoNCltIS0VZX0xPQ0FMX01AQ0hJ TkVcU09GVFdBUkVcVW5yZWFsIFRlY2hub3xvZ3lcSW5zdGFsbGVkIEFwcGNcVVQyMDA1XQ0KIkNE S2V5Ij0iU1JWRVItSENXWlItTkFOMlgtTUxNSzMiDQo= --bc7f81df149bbf2acde08fcfcb7e3e943-- Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.eerrrr, recieving this mail? 2. 3. This looks like a malformed email. Notice around the Content-type headers, there's spaces between the equals argument... > Content-Type: application/octet-stream; name = "UT2004_Server_CD_Key.reg" ^ ^ <-- here On an email I have here... notice how the attachment is formatted: > ------=_NextPart_001_001C_01C6B028.7BE7FF60 > Content-Type: image/gif; > name="clip_image001.gif" Ignoring the fact that the name argument appears on a different line, it also lacks the spaces around this = sign. You might want to mention this to EpicGames (who appear to have sent you this email). In the meantime, have you tried reproducing this in later versions of Thunderbird (e.g. 1.5.0.5)? This may be an issue that has to be taken upstream.
(In reply to comment #1) Thx for your reply. > You might want to mention this to EpicGames (who appear to have sent you this > email). Ok, in fact that's not a crucial problem... I was more interested on contributing to help on thunderbird than to learn to Epic how to send mails... > In the meantime, have you tried reproducing this in later versions of > Thunderbird (e.g. 1.5.0.5)? This may be an issue that has to be taken > upstream. I have the same problem on 1.5.0.4. When I first looked on the mail (was archived in another folder) after your reply, the icon "attached file" on the mail list panel was on for this mail but no attached file was still found when clicking on it. Now, the icon isn't on anymore, I don't know why.

Now, the icon isn't on anymore, I don't know why. I reproduced it: the icon was on in the list panel, I clicked on the mail to select it, *shazam*, the icon disappeared :)
