There are other audio players that can use the Winamp compatible skins that xmms uses, beep media player and audacious for instance. If you have one of the other two players, xmms-themes shouldn't require xmms as a dependency. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.emerge audacious or beep-media-player and xmms-themes 2.shouldn't depend on xmms Actual Results: Portage tries to install xmms. Expected Results: Run audacious and the themes without requiring xmms. emerge info: Portage 2.0.51.22-r3 (default-linux/x86/2005.1, gcc-3.4.4, glibc-2.3.5-r2, 2.6.14-gentoo-r2 i686) ================================================================= System uname: 2.6.14-gentoo-r2 i686 AMD Opteron(tm) Processor 246 Gentoo Base System version 1.6.13 ccache version 2.3 [enabled] dev-lang/python: 2.3.5-r2, 2.4.2 sys-apps/sandbox: 1.2.12 sys-devel/autoconf: 2.13, 2.59-r6 sys-devel/automake: 1.4_p6, 1.5, 1.6.3, 1.7.9-r1, 1.8.5-r3, 1.9.6-r1 sys-devel/binutils: 2.16.1 sys-devel/libtool: 1.5.20 virtual/os-headers: 2.6.11-r2 ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="x86" AUTOCLEAN="yes" CBUILD="i686-pc-linux-gnu" CFLAGS="-Os -march=athlon-xp -pipe" CHOST="i686-pc-linux-gnu" CONFIG_PROTECT="/etc /usr/kde/2/share/config /usr/kde/3/share/config /usr/lib/X11/xkb /usr/lib/mozilla/defaults/pref /usr/share/config /var/qmail/control" CONFIG_PROTECT_MASK="/etc/gconf /etc/terminfo /etc/env.d" CXXFLAGS="-Os -march=athlon-xp -pipe" DISTDIR="/usr/portage/distfiles" FEATURES="autoconfig ccache distlocks sandbox sfperms strict" GENTOO_MIRRORS="http://distfiles.gentoo.org http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/distributions/gentoo" MAKEOPTS="-j3" PKGDIR="/usr/portage/packages" PORTAGE_TMPDIR="/var/tmp" PORTDIR="/usr/portage" PORTDIR_OVERLAY="/usr/local/portage" SYNC="rsync://rsync.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage" USE="x86 16bit 3dnow 3dnowext 7zip S3TC X a52 aac acpi aim alsa ao aotuv apm asf asm audacious audiofile avi bash-completion berkdb bitmap-fonts buttons bzip2 cdda cddb cdinstall cdparanoia cdr cpudetection crypt css cups curl dbus dv dvd dvdr dvdread editor emboss encode esd exif expat experimental fam fastcgi fat ffmpeg flac flash fmod font-server foomaticdb fortran freetype ftp gdbm gif gimp gimpprint glibc-compat20 glut glx gmail gmailtimestamps gnome gpm gstreamer gtk gtk2 hal icc icq id3 idn ieee1394 ifc image imagemagick imap imlib ipv6 jabber java javascript jpeg kqemu lame lcms libg++ libwww lzo lzw mad matroska mhash mikmod ming mjpeg mmx mmxext mng mod motif mozilla mp3 mp4live mpeg mpeg2 mpeg4 musepack music musicbrainz mysql ncurses nls nsplugin ntfs offensive ogg oggvorbis openal opengl oss pam pcre pdflib perl php physfs player png python quicktime readline real reiserfs rogue screen sdl shorten smp sndfile speex spell sqlite sse sse2 ssl tcltk tcpd theora tiff timidity transcode truetype truetype-fonts type1-fonts udev usb vhosts videos vorbis win32codecs wma123 xchat xine xml xml2 xpm xscreensaver xv xvid zlib userland_GNU kernel_linux elibc_glibc" Unset: ASFLAGS, CTARGET, LANG, LC_ALL, LDFLAGS, LINGUAS
