Description Bram Ridder 2005-12-13 21:22:55 UTC
I tried downloading quake4-demo, but after getting the file I get the following
message:

>>> md5 files   ;-) quake4-demo-1.0.ebuild
>>> md5 files   ;-) files/digest-quake4-demo-1.0

!!! Digest verification Failed:
!!!    /data/portage/distfiles/quake4-linux-1.0-demo.x86.run
!!! Reason: Failed on MD5 verification

The files came from:
http://downloads-3dg.planetmirror.com/pub/3dgamers/games/quake4/quake4-linux-1.0-demo.x86.run

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Add "games-fps/quake4-demo ~x86 in /etc/portage/package.keywords
2. Type "emerge quake4-demo"
3.

Actual Results:
I can't install the game because of a bad MD5 check

Expected Results:
The files shouldn't be corrupt so the MD5 check doesn't fails

I just deleted my local copy and let it download again and it matches the MD5 in
the digest. There's nothing I can do about you getting a bad download.
Comment 2 Chris Gianelloni (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-12-14 07:11:09 UTC
Try grabbing it form the Id FTP server, or from the official Id Bittorrent.
Comment 3 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2005-12-14 07:12:17 UTC
i verified the file myself last nite with the URL mentioned here and with the
id server ... looks like you just got a bum download
Comment 4 Bram Ridder 2005-12-15 14:54:55 UTC
Ok, thanks for the comments. I'll try the sources from ID Software. Hopefuly
that'll work :)
