not the printing guy ...
your first ebuild? ;) there are quite some errors .. i'll fix them and commit and/or add it here for u to check (feel free to ask questions then ;)
sorry for the delay but i got C++ problems (gcc3.2)
ahmmm.. still waiting :)
i know sorry but i was quite busy ;) but i cleaned up about 15-20 fo my bugs today this is for tomorrow ;) *G* (i still have compile errors here..)
had to remove the patches for it to compile here .. which gcc did u use before?
It works well with my system (Athlon 1700+ LaserJet 3330mpf on JetDirect 170X) with the following two exceptions: It needs to depend on: net-analyzer/ucd-snmp for JetDirect compatibility and it needs to add the driver 'hpoj' to /etc/sane.d/dll.conf to work properly. A hpoj.conf file should also probably be added for completeness. Scott =)
Woops. I just noticed that hpoj was added to dll.conf. I just missed it the first few times I looked.
it does depend on ucd-snmp: snmp? ( >=net-analyzer/ucd-snmp-4.2.6 ) but only if u got snmp in your USE hmm.. hpoj.conf .. can u supply one? i can't test it myself
I feel like I am being an over eager kid and displaying my ignorance. ;) hpoj does not use hpoj.conf to store their device list. What we should do, though is put a note in to say something like: "To setup the hpoj driver you must run '/etc/init.d/ptal-init setup'. This will scan your system for HP OfficeJet printers and set them up for you." The ebuild that I downloaded (above link) did not mention snmp at all. Where is that info stored? Scott =)
i was talking about the one in the portage tree (do emerge sync) it's in /usr/portage/net-print/hpoj ..completely different to the attached one ..
Comment on attachment 6166 [details] hpoj-0.90 (new ebuild) obsolete file
Okay. You snuck that one in on me. ;) I must have looked for one just before you posted that. I installed it and it works well over the network. Thanks. Scott =)
os i can mark this as fixed/closed?
take that as a yes ..
