... At least I think it's a bad man path - if I install pd-0.39_p1 on my system, it installs the man pages for pd, pdsend and pdreceive to /usr/usr/share/man/man1, creating a /usr/usr directory for them, too. I suspect that this should be /usr/share/man/, instead, like most of the other programs use. I'm guessing that this is a problem with the ebuild and not the source, but so far I haven't dug down into things to see what's up - if the problem is not in the ebuild, it's probably upstream of Gentoo in the source code, itself. Other installation paths look OK. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.emerge pd 2.do a "man pd" 3. Actual Results: The pd man page is not found. Expected Results: I'd expect to see pd's man page, since it's being installed. Since the program still works (I guess - haven't actually started it yet, since I wanted to look at its documentation, first), and there's an easy workaround either copying the docs to the /usr/share/man1 directory or setting up symbolic links to them where they sit, I'd rate this pretty minor; it is also probably pretty easy to fix... Here's the "emerge info", though I'm pretty sure my setup has nothing to do with this one: Portage 2.0.53 (default-linux/amd64/2005.1, gcc-4.0.2, glibc-2.3.6-r1, 2.6.14-gentoo-r4 x86_64) ================================================================= System uname: 2.6.14-gentoo-r4 x86_64 AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 2800+ Gentoo Base System version 1.12.0_pre11 dev-lang/python: 2.4.2 sys-apps/sandbox: 1.2.17 sys-devel/autoconf: 2.13, 2.59-r7 sys-devel/automake: 1.4_p6, 1.5, 1.6.3, 1.7.9-r1, 1.8.5-r3, 1.9.6-r1 sys-devel/binutils: 2.16.1-r1 sys-devel/libtool: 1.5.20-r1 virtual/os-headers: 2.6.11-r3 ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="amd64 ~amd64" AUTOCLEAN="yes" CBUILD="x86_64-pc-linux-gnu" CFLAGS="-march=k8 -O2 -pipe -DHAVE_LRINTF" CHOST="x86_64-pc-linux-gnu" CONFIG_PROTECT="/etc /usr/kde/2/share/config /usr/kde/3.5/env /usr/kde/3.5/share/config /usr/kde/3.5/shutdown /usr/kde/3/share/config /usr/lib64/mozilla/defaults/pref /usr/share/X11/xkb /usr/share/config /var/qmail/control" CONFIG_PROTECT_MASK="/etc/gconf /etc/terminfo /etc/env.d" CXXFLAGS="-march=k8 -O2 -pipe -DHAVE_LRINTF" DISTDIR="/usr/portage/distfiles" FEATURES="autoconfig distlocks sandbox sfperms strict" GENTOO_MIRRORS="http://distfiles.gentoo.org http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/distributions/gentoo" MAKEOPTS="-j2" PKGDIR="/usr/portage/packages" PORTAGE_TMPDIR="/var/tmp" PORTDIR="/usr/portage" PORTDIR_OVERLAY="/usr/local/portage" SYNC="rsync://rsync.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage" USE="amd64 X a52 alsa audiofile avi berkdb bitmap-fonts bzip2 cdr crypt cups dri dts dvd dvdr dvdread emboss encode exif expat fam ffmpeg flac foomaticdb fortran gif gmp gpm gstreamer gtk gtk2 idn imlib java jpeg junit lcms lzw lzw-tiff mad mjpeg mng motif mozilla mp3 mpeg ncurses nptl nptlonly nsplugin offensive ogg opengl pam pcre pdflib perl png python qt quicktime readline sdl sndfile spell ssl tcltk tcpd theora threads tiff truetype truetype-fonts type1-fonts udev usb userlocales vorbis xml2 xmms xpm xv xvid zlib userland_GNU kernel_linux elibc_glibc" Unset: ASFLAGS, CTARGET, LANG, LC_ALL, LDFLAGS, LINGUAS
Thanks for reporting, fixed now.
