I've had this bug for quite some time, and recently found the secret to reproducing it. Enable quick search bar, control+f in any page, type in text that's in the page, close the bar, control+f again and try to edit the text in the bar. These series of steps always crashes the firefox GUI except the actual page being displayed. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Enable quick search bar. 2. control+f in any page. 3. type in text that's in the page. 4. close the bar. 5. control+f again and try to edit the text in the bar. Actual Results: GUI freezes, page stays usable. Expected Results: no freeze. I can't seem to reproduce this on my machine (although I'm running x86, I'm not ruling out an AMD64-specific bug). Can you reproduce this in Firefox 1.0.7-r4 or 1.5.0.5? Regards, Stuart Longland
This bug appears to be fixed in >=mozilla-firefox-1.5.0.*
