heh, that's a bogus .o file that shouldnt be in the tarball

there is no testsuite with pax-utils

perhaps you have some bashrc or eclass multilib function failing

no, when i packaged 0.1.5, i had a local 'test.o' file bundled in by accident

make has implicit rules and thus thinks a valid 'test' target exists

removed the file with the ebuild and update the 'distclean' target so i wont
screw up again ;)
