I'm sorry, but your sed is screwed. Get a working binary somewhere and then re-emerge sed, rather than reopening this bug over and over again. There's nothing we could do for you if even 'USE=bootstrap emerge sed' does not work for you. This is not a bug, we did not break your binary.

I'm sorry to insist on this problem but I don't know what to do to resolve it because I got a working binary but when I ./configure it this is the output: tux sed-4.1.4 # ./configure ./configure: line 249: /bin/sed: cannot execute binary file ./configure: line 742: /bin/sed: cannot execute binary file ./configure: line 1004: /bin/sed: cannot execute binary file ./configure: line 1293: /bin/sed: cannot execute binary file checking for a BSD-compatible install... /bin/install -c checking whether build environment is sane... configure: error: ls -t appears to fail. (In reply to comment #8) > configure: error: newly created file is older than distributed files! Your system clock sucks, fix it.
My system clock has no problems
I've searched but can't find a fix for this
(In reply to comment #10) > My system clock has no problems Ah, sure... So the timestamps from future are caused by what? > configure: error: newly created file is older than distributed files! Once again - bugzilla is for bugs. Your broken sed and your incorrectly set system clock is not a bug. Get a working binary package for sed... If you still have questions, then direct them to forums.gentoo.org. Thanks.
.
Download the statically compiled sed to ${PKGDIR}/All and run emerge -K sed or just unpack it to / wget http://dev.gentoo.org/~jakub/sed-4.1.4.tbz2
