Description nm (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-12-08 09:53:33 UTC
While trying to install e17 (from -*, rather than ~x86), I successfully built
every component required, except for the CVS version of entrance. It will not
compile. Here's the error message:

* * *

Making all in data
make[1]: Entering directory
`/var/tmp/portage/entrance-9999/work/e17/apps/entrance/data'
Making all in config
make[2]: Entering directory
`/var/tmp/portage/entrance-9999/work/e17/apps/entrance/data/config'
sh build_config.sh
You need to specify a command!
Usage: ecore_config -c <file> <command> [-k key]
Modify ecore_config files

Accepted commands:
  -a          get all keys
  -g          get key
  -d          delete key
  -b <value>  set boolean
  -f <value>  set float
  -i <value>  set integer
  -n          set nil
  -r <value>  set RGBA
  -s <value>  set string
  -t <value>  set theme

  -k <key> must be specified for all commands except -a

The above error message repeats many, many times, before finally finishing with
this error message:

* * *

make[2]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/portage/entrance-9999/work/e17/apps/entranc

make[1]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/portage/entrance-9999/work/e17/apps/entranc

make: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
 * This is a LIVE CVS ebuild.
 * That means there are NO promises it will work.
 * If it fails to build, FIX THE CODE YOURSELF
 * before reporting any issues.

!!! ERROR: x11-misc/entrance-9999 failed.
!!! Function enlightenment_die, Line 94, Exitcode 0
!!! emake failed
!!! SEND BUG REPORTS TO vapier@gentoo.org NOT THE E TEAM

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge entrance after building the rest of the EFL and optional components
2.
3.

Actual Results:
Entrance fails to build with the error "Function enlightenment_die, Line 94",
after first giving several repeated instances of the "Specify a command" message.

Expected Results:
Compiled and (hopefully) be ready for use.

Should I open a new bug for this, or reopen this one? Despite syncing, I still
get the same error (enlightenment_die line 94), but this time in a different
way. Though the "specify command" messages have disappeared, now they're
replaced by a different error that leads to the same emake failed message:

make sure your ecore is up-to-date and wait a while

anon sf cvs takes a while to sync
