according to  http://ftp.yars.free.net/projects/lftp/
a new version(2.6.3, gentoo has 2.6.2 at this time) is available, would it be
possible to include 2.6.3?

lftp-2.6.3 is currently in portage.  Marked unstable but there are no problems 
I have experienced so far.  It will be marked stable soon.
