Description Simone Scanzoni 2005-12-07 09:44:08 UTC
The surround40 alias has the front channels muted with alsa-lib-1.0.10 (also rc2
and rc3) and in-kernel drivers from gentoo-sources-2.6.14-r2 (I obtain the same
results with surround51 ).
Upgrading alsa-driver to 1.0.10 solved the problem (it added the "Front" voice
in alsamixer ;) ).

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. $ speaker-test -D surround40 -c 4
Actual Results:
Only rear channels working

Expected Results:
Front ones working too!

I'm on an Athlon64 3200+ with a SBLive! Value [CT4832] (rev.8)

2.6.14 alsa drivers are 1.0.10_rc1; use media-sound/alsa-driver-1.0.10 final
from the ebuild if it works for you, that's why we provide it.
