Description Philippe GASSMANN 2005-12-06 14:19:58 UTC
After doing an emerge -u world, alsa-driver were updated. I do not have updated
my kernel.
It was working fine but now with alsa-driver-1.0.10_rc3 I have the following
errors when my system is trying to load alsa modules :
root@bartaba /usr/src/linux # /etc/init.d/alsasound restart
 * ALSA is not loaded

root@bartaba /usr/src/linux #

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. /etc/init.d/alsasound start

Actual Results:
No sound : no drivers are loaded

Expected Results:
Some sound coming from my computer... ;)

I tried removing this directory : /lib/modules/$(uname -r) and remerging
alsa-driver, but it does not work. I tried alsaconf : no result.
Maybe I have done something wrong but I can't really see what.

Just use the same compiler for kernel and modules ;)
Comment 2 Jakub Moc (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-12-06 14:22:30 UTC
See above...
