mico 2.3.9 hangs forever on the mkdepend step when you try to compile it. This might also happen in higher versions, please check. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. emerge "=mico-2.3.9" 2. 3. Actual Results: mkdepend script gets stuck Expected Results: Compile cleanly :-) The fix is easy, see my post on http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-300661-highlight-mkdepend.html

Why cant anyone fix this - its no problem, the solution is known for more than half a year now, and the issue is still the same!

Hello, I am in the process of writing an ebuild for OpenFOAM, a Computation Fluid Dynamic (CFD) toolbox. This tool needs mico... So, what do we do now? OpenFOAM (the source code) comes with mico, however, I don't think that it is a good idea to use it, in term of security and maintainance. It seems that the mico epatch just needs one patch to get going. Can't the patch be applied and mico be brought to life? That would be nice and that would help me to move on with OpenFOAM. Daniel

However this project is still a brain child in my mind, I hope to have it running well in a couple of months. Just to comment, I think it would be cool if OpenFOAM worked; I had to mess with it for a Professor at university and we ended up just installed it in their homedir...ahh the hacks ;)
