Can you reproduce this error, or was it a one time deal?
Comment 2 Garen 2002-11-30 21:56:31 UTC
Yeah, it happens every time. Very strange. Is this not reproducible for you?
Comment 3 Garen 2002-11-30 23:25:23 UTC
I believe I have found the problem. After staring at the ebuild and others for
a long time and not thinking anything was wrong, I tried to do some other
ebuilds and they also failed with really weird errors.

I also began noticing that my load would periodically spike up to 5-10 with no
major CPU consuming processes running....

Heh, well, long story short: Bad IDE cable. Apologies in advance if I wasted
much of anyone's time. :)
