Hi, I made a patch that adds search functionality to nautilus in a well integrated way by using a findbar similar to the firefox's one. You can see a screencast of this feature and also information about the patch from the following url: http://supertux.cenobioracing.com/nautilus.html I, being a gnome and gentoo user, won't have any problem to maintain this patch against nautilus ebuild if you like it and want to include it. It isn't really our policy to add behavior changing patches to applications like this. I appreciate you offering to maintain it(and writing it) but if you want it included in nautilus, you should get it integrated upstream.
