I experienced a successful build of fann-1.2.0-r1 on amd64. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Sorry, if this is not the place for this kind of info. I couldn't find a better one.

Yeah, but this has nothing to do with amd64. The same is on x86. For solution see: http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=82918
no 1.2.0 doesn't work... satya fann 2.0.0 works on amd64 can you bump it so we can add the keyword or you want to leave to sci-mathematics herd ? :)
I can't be very active in Gentoo for the next months :-( : for the sake of the package it is best to give it to sci-mathematics. The python component changed with the 2.0 release (march/april 2006): its support is now better.
Created attachment 93274 [details] fann-2.0.0.ebuild I received this ebuild from a user (I didn't test it)
Created attachment 93275 [details, diff] fann-2.0.0 Makefile patch in ${FILESDIR} for the fann-2.0.0 ebuild (untested)
Please reopen this bug once bug 82918 got resolved. Looks like it's going to take a while until this is fixed.
