Description Paul Biciunas 2005-11-28 18:17:59 UTC
I downloaded the universal amd64 iso and attempted to install following the
Gentoo Linux 2005.1 AMD64 Handbook. Upon reaching section 7.b Installing the
Sources, it failed because it couldn't find genpatches-2.6.13-4.base.tar.gz at
any of the sites. Visiting a few of the sites by hand, I found 2.6.13-3 and
2.6.13-5 and others, but none that had a -4 tar file. How do I specify a kernal
source that actyually exists?

You need to 'emerge sync' to bring your local copy of the portage tree up to
date - then it will have ebuilds for versions which match the sources on the
mirrors.

Cheers,
