Description Alexander Stoll 2005-11-27 03:26:25 UTC
The last stable package with kernel 2.4 is gone 2.4.31-r1 is only ~ and users
that uses the 2.4 profile know are left with broken dependencies. To solve this
the users have to install a different kernel source package or keyword the
latest unstable package...
Is this intention or a oversight? If kernel 2.4 is completely dropped for
gentoo-sources, 2.4.31-r1 should be removed as well and the users should be
advised to switch to another package...

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. use the nptl/2.4 profile
2. emerge --sync
3. emerge -puDN world and portage complains broken dependencies

Actual Results:
portage complains about broken dependencies, switch to another kernel package or
keyword ~ the latest unstable package manually

Expected Results:
no broken dependencies or drop of all 2.4 gentoo-sources and advise to switch to
another kernel package

Sorry, this is my fault, I didn't realise that 2.4.31 was ~arch. Now marked
stable on x86 so that should clear things up.
