Looking at the koffice ebuild there is a reference to python-config. On my python-2.2.2 install, there is no such file. Looking in /usr/portage, python-config does exist, but it appears to be tied to python-2.1.
The python-config-2.2.2 file was missig in cvs, I've added it. Please emerge python again and you should get it. Thanks for reporting.
