Martin Ehmsen is willing to join text-markup team, especially he is interested on dev-tex part. Currently we do not have enough human resource to fix dev-tex bugs, so I hope he can be the most active text-markup developer after he joins our team ;) He has spent several years using Gentoo and he has been very friendly fixing bugs in bugzilla (including written patches for openbox, psi,... made new ebuilds for aspell-da, pointless, and many other things). His mail address is martin@ehmsen.org and Alexandre (Nattfodd) and me (from text-markup herd) are going to mentor him.
Nattfodd can't be a mentor as he's not even a developer yet.
I believe that what was meant was that I would help Martin when Mamoru wouldn't be available, not any "official" mentoring. Like the thing PhD directors do all the time and that allows bootstrapping. Please correct me if I am wrong.
I don't mind you helping as long as everybody is clear that only current ebuild developers can have any official responsibility.
Sorry for any confusion I introduced; I forgot to check that he's an official dev or not. Currently I can make some time for Gentoo only on weekend, and Nattfodd was kind enough to offer some help, so I told Martin to ask someone (for example, at #gentoo-dev) if he was in hurry. I'm mentoring him because there is noone else maintaining dev-tex right now, and I should tell him how LaTeX things done in Gentoo (and other stuff that might be necessary for being a dev). In short, I'll mentor him through the process. Thanks for pointing that, Bryan. Also thanks to Alexandre.
ping ? The quizzes have been mailed some weeks ago, if I remember correctly. Any news ? Thanks.
I have not had the time to finish the last (end of mentoring quiz) quiz yet, due to the holidays (I was online for the first time in two weeks yesterday... *sigh*). But I should be able to finish it in the next couple of days, so stay tuned!
Martin, have you decided on a username? I'll get you set up as soon as I've checked your quizzes.
I have just submitted the end of mentoring quiz. I have emailed it to recuriters and cc'ed usata and nattfodd. If there are no problems with it and you decide to add me as a dev, then I would like the username: ehmsen (like my surname).
Welcome aboard, Martin.
Martin, according to Developer Relations rules for inactivity we're going to retire you. You'll retain email access in the form of a forward for three months (as specified in the policy) and we'd be delighted to see you back as a full developer if you like. Returning requires you to answer the quizzes (http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/devrel/quiz/end-quiz.txt) but we don't require a mentor for former devs. Off course recruiters will be happy to help with any questions.
If I may comment: AFAIR he announced that he is writing his Ph.D. And he is not inactive, only when you count commits. I had mail-contact with him about some LaTeX-issues last week.
Lars is right, i'm currently writing my Ph.D thesis. If you count commits I have been inactive for some time now, but i'm following bug mails (and mails sent directly to me, but I read no lists) and answers questions about TeX stuff (TeXLive vs TeTeX and so on). So it depends on the definition of inactive?
Thank you for the responses, Lars and Martin. We certainly have no intention of retiring a developer who is still actively contributing. Best of luck with your thesis.

Looks like he's still busy with his Ph.D. We can close this one. :-)

Martin is still working on his Ph.D. and won't have much time for Gentoo in foreseeable future. Infra, please process his retirement.
