This is a duplicate of Bug 111425. I didn't change the status because I don't think I'm supposed to. Incidently I failed to emerge xfce-base/xfwm4-4.2.2 at the time I submitted this (synced a couple hours ago) even though bug 111425 is marked as fixed in CVS. I didn't try the other versions.
Patrick, would you mind trying again? It works for me. If it still doesn't work, please attach your config.log...
