Description Kyle Liddell 2002-11-27 23:22:14 UTC
I've got gcc 3.2-r4, glibc 2.2.5-r7, binutils 2.13.90.0.4, sun-jdk 1.4.1.01-r1,
on an athlon xp1600, 512mb ram and 128mb swap, gentoo 1.4_rc1. I don't have
openmotif or blackdown jdk or jre. I'm trying to build sun-j2sdk-1.4.0-r3, and
I get the same problems with the -r2 ebuild.
I run emerge sun-j2sdk and it compiles normally for a few hours, and then it
stops with several warnings in zip_util.c and then make exits with errors. I've
tried compiling this with several versions of sun-jdk, sun-j2sdk, blackdown-jdk,
and everything else I can think of.
I've put my make.conf and the stdout and stderr into the files
http://foobox.homelinux.net/~kyle/bugs/make.conf ,
http://foobox.homelinux.net/~kyle/bugs/javaout.bz2 ,
http://foobox.homelinux.net/~kyle/bugs/javaerr , respectively. I'm also
attaching the last 30 lines of the stderr.

Thanks

Reassigning bug to cretin@gentoo.org since he created this ebuild.

Hi there,

Your Java compiler bug is a great mistory to me, for most people it works fine.
But in this case it doesn't. Many people have complained of errors in the ebuild
but most of them were caused by other factors. One example is GSECURITY being
enabled.

As I cannot replicate the compile errors and the errors seem unique to you I
will not try
and fix it any more. Marking bug as WORKSFORME (and everyone else bar 3 people).

I am very sorry but there is nothing I can do,

Stefan
