hello, gnome.org eclass needs a revision. gnome 2.0.3 was just released, so i fooled around with some ebuilds to get latest stable versions on my box. since sources reside in http://ftp.gnome.org/pub/GNOME/desktop/2.0/2.0.3/sources/ using gnome.org eclass was fine, all i had to do was replace 'gnome2' with 'gnome.org' and src were downloaded, digests generated. cool. then it geos compiling/installing. seems like things are not really installed, if ebuild does not have src_install function declared on its own (i checked: functions do not exist in the gnome.org eclass). i switched back to gnome2 eclass, since i found that this one has all the functions declared, and installation of libgnomeui and other stuff went ok i'm not submiting ebuilds here, because i'm not sure which eclass should i use (gnome2 needs to look for sources not in default location, gnome.org eclass has installation probs described above). here's a list of bits that need the version bump for gnome 2.0.3: bonobo-activation-1.0.4 control-center-2.0.3 eel-2.0.8 eog-1.0.4 gdm-2.4.0.12 gnome-media-2.0.3 gnome-system-monitor-2.0.3 gnome-utils-2.0.6 gnome-terminal-2.0.2 intltool-0.23 libgnome-2.0.6 libgnomecanvas-2.0.5 libgnomeui-2.0.6 libgtkhtml-2.0.3 libwnck-0.18 libxslt-1.0.23 nautilus-2.0.8
considering that the builds you had to modify to get gnome.org are the ones that are broken. a bit of exploring on the gnome.org ftp site will show you that the gnome 2.0.3 release only links to the various software which is in its own category. gnome2.eclass inherits gnome.org, meaning that all packages that reside on the gnome ftp site can safely be without SRC_URI and thus get downloaded from the right place. besides that, gnome 2.0.3 and related ebuils are in the tree and masked as testing. thankyou for your time.
