Description Marcin Kryczek (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-11-20 05:12:50 UTC
museseq fails to start without jack running. according to it's documentation
(http://www.muse-sequencer.org/wiki/index.php/Installation) jack is obligate

Hi Marcin,

the dependency to jack is satisfied due to DEPEND=">=media-sound/jack-audio-connection-kit-0.98.0"
Since no specific RDEPEND is specified portage will default to the DEPEND variable.

Please note that both DEPEND and REDEPEND are only used by portage to resolve dependencies when emerging ebuilds. It does *not* take care of automatic starting of deamons or sound servers on runtime.
