and

The new kernel don't seem to like us very much.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Configure the kernel with framebuffer to the monitor's factory default.
2.Edit bootloader configs accordingly
3.Compile support for cards in framebuffer
4.Watch as the words "Sync. Out of Range" float on your screen

Actual Results:
NOTHING! The monitor doesn't work!

Expected Results:
Showed up properly.

See http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-p-2891929.html; mixing a couple of
drivers for your card - compiled into kernel - won't play nicely. If
genkernel-compiled kernel works without such problem, it configuration error.
