Afaic, latest 1.1.9.10 and previous ebuilds import linux-mod but
don't use it (no MODULE_NAMES declared)

Hey spock,

Can you please port the splashutils to better use linux-mod.
Namely, src_compile/pkg-setup.

I don't use it, but by having a very quick look through it looks like its linux-info you want?

Any advice, just ask. Thanks mate.

I don't think linux-info is enough to get the package added to the moduledb, which seems to be the outcome the report was hoping for? It probably needs the full linux-mod stuff. Cisco-vpnclient-3des needs the same treatment, (see bug 130523)...

Thanks for your suggestions everyone :)

Starting with splashutils-1.3, the splash programs are no longer built against a live kernel source tree and thus don't need to be added to moduledb. Instead, they are built using the kernel headers supplied by klibc.
