Hi, The Gentoo 2005.1 install CD provided md as a kernel module, and did not have /dev/md[012] or /dev/md/* in /dev. Would it be possible for the next CD release to have md compiled into the kernel instead? md's autodetection only works when it's compiled in, and it saves time when using the install CD as a rescue disk for a machine using software RAID. Many thanks, Stu
I've added this for x86 for the next release and also added it to the genkernel .config though you should understand that the InstallCD is not designed to be a rescue disc of any kind. The LiveCD is suitable for such a purpose, as it allows for more features and has better rescue packages already on the CD. CONFIG_BLK_DEV_MD=y Could the rest of you guys please be sure to do this on your architecture, too? Thanks

Well, x86 and amd64 have this set for 2006.1, so I'm marking this one as FIXED. I've added it to all of the other arches for 2007.0's release.
