From the homepage: "The script rtf2xml faithfully converts Microsoft's RTF format to structured XML. Developers can make further transformations using standard XML tools, or use the stylsheets provided to convert to sdocbook or TEI.2." rtf2xml is used by net-zope/portaltransforms.

Oops! The attached ebuild should be keyworded ~x86 instead of x86, but I didn't think this was worth uploading a new attachment and cluttering the bug.
Andrew, thank You for You contribution. Before entering ebuild into portage please: 1. update ebuild to version 1.3 2. check if other packages may use it? 3. what about optionally depending on it from portaltransforms - did you consider it?

radek, I'm not aware of any other packages that could use rtf2xml (although that doesn't mean they don't exist). I'd intended to file a separate bug against portaltransforms once this one was resolved. In additition to the conditional dependency, it might be nice to to conditionally install portaltransform's rtf2xml script - at the moment it is always installed and this can cause event.log entries such as: "PortalTransforms Unable to find binary rtf2xml"
Commited into portage as dev-python/rtf2xml-1.32
